First Training Held as Part of the Erasmus+ CBHE PASEC Project

The first teacher training within the Erasmus+ CBHE project PASEC – Precise Agriculture and Sustainable Environment Curricula Modernisation Supporting Climate Changes Resilient Society was held from 29 June to 3 July 2026 and organised by the PASEC team from the Faculty of Technical Sciences, University of Novi Sad, and Gilab d.o.o. from Belgrade.
The training brought together representatives of partner institutions from Indonesia, the Maldives, Thailand, Belgium, Serbia and Croatia, with the aim of exchanging knowledge, strengthening teaching staff competencies, and developing modern teaching approaches in precision agriculture, geoinformation technologies and sustainable environmental management.
The first day of the training focused on contemporary approaches to higher education, the exchange of good practices, and the presentation of the objectives and activities of the PASEC project. Through interactive discussions, participants shared experiences related to innovative teaching methods, curriculum modernisation, and stronger cooperation between universities and stakeholders from the agricultural sector. Over the following days, expert lectures and practical workshops covered geoinformation technologies, remote sensing, GIS, Google Earth Engine, soil analysis, sensor systems and precision agriculture.
The second part of the training was held in Belgrade and organised by Gilab d.o.o. It focused on the use of digital technologies in agricultural production management, the capabilities of digital management platforms based on satellite data and remote sensing, and methods for the spatial modelling of soil properties, including data interpolation and the use of soil spectroscopy in precision agriculture. Particular attention was also devoted to sustainable agriculture and climate change. Practical examples showcased platforms for monitoring agricultural practices and the use of geoinformation technologies to track agricultural activities in near real time.
A particular emphasis during the training was placed on developing case studies based on the real needs of stakeholders. These projects, developed in cooperation with stakeholders and with the active involvement of students, will be integrated into the new and modernised study programmes of the partner universities. In this way, PASEC further connects higher education with practice and enables students to acquire practical knowledge and experience by addressing real-world challenges in precision agriculture and sustainable development.
This training represents an important milestone in the implementation of the PASEC project, as it contributes to strengthening international cooperation, developing teaching staff competencies, and creating educational programmes that will equip future professionals with the knowledge and skills needed to advance sustainable and climate-resilient agriculture.
The PASEC project is implemented within the Erasmus+ Capacity Building in Higher Education (CBHE) programme. Its objective is to modernise higher education through the development of innovative curricula and stronger links between academia, industry and other relevant stakeholders.
