LLL Course – “SDI and Smart Cities”
Lifelong learning course in the area of SDI in smart cities was held from 24. to 26. june 2019. at the Faculty of Technical Sciences in Novi Sad. Three day course organized by Geoinformatics Laboratory was lead by associate professor PhD Dubravka Sladić as one of the teachers in the area of spatial data infrastructure at the Geodesy and Geoinformatics study programme. 11 participants from different organizations (Public Company Urbanism of Vojvodina, Faculty of Technical Sciences Novi Sad) took part in this course.
The course consisted from theoretical and practical part. Theoretical part covered following subjects: Introduction to Smart City Paradigm, Smart Cities and IoT, Spatial Data Infrastructure and Smart Cities, 3D Spatial Data Infrastructure for Smart Cities – 3D Geoportals, 3D city models and 3D cadastre. Practical part covered following subjects: development of simple mobile app for monitoring free parking spots based on Leaflet JS library in online editor. Establishment of IGP architecture on city level using open source software (QGIS, Geoserver, GeoNetwork) – from creating spatial data to distribution. Creating online 3D city model using OGC CityGML standard and Cesium JS library – 3D City DB. Implementation of 3D cadastre using OpenBIM format and BIMServer.
Participants were presented with Erasmus+ project BestSDI, as well as the book “Spatial Data Infrastructure and Geoportals” written by Miro Govedarica, Dubravka Sladic and Aleksandra Radulovic.
At the end of the course, head of Geoinformatics Laboratory, professor PhD Dušan Jovanović congratulated participants for successfully taken course and gave them the certificates of attendance. The course was concluded with a group photo at the Faculty.
